Our Mission
NonProphet Media promotes and protects the region’s greatest resources by producing impactful short films, social media content, and educational materials for university labs and social entrepreneurship organizations, connecting discovery with social impact, creating jobs for talented high school and university students, including disadvantaged populations, and increasing STEM engagement and social entrepreneurship project-based learning for K-12 teachers, students and families.
The Problem
University labs face significant and widening capacity gaps for NSF, NIH and most grant organization-mandated education and outreach work, including video and social media content as well as virtual learning
The gap between STEM-ready, entrepreneurial Iowans and those who lack adequate education and support continues to grow as resources for public education diminish.
Iowa’s greatest resources are its people, its soil, air, and water, and according to its slogan, has a Foundation in Education. All are threatened by budget cuts and widening capacity gaps
Many STEM fields develop new technologies with very limited communication or collaboration with K-12 students, significantly diminishing STEM’s impact and hindering entrepreneurship
Many high school and college students are interested in video production, content creation, advocacy and social entrepreneurship, but have little to no access to professional equipment, internships, or jobs.
Our Solution
Affordable and impactful educational video and social media content for scientists and social entrepreneurs
Connecting high school students with more experienced filmmakers in college and beyond, and working with volunteer teacher advisors to create dynamic production teams
Projects create valuable work experience and educational opportunities for students interested in video production, storytelling, and marketing
2020-2021 projects involve environmental sustainability in agriculture, community service, and conservation efforts at a local and national scale
